BMW and MINI are key sponsors of the 2012 Olympic Games, so it comes as little surprise they are flexing their muscles to the maximum extent.
Their latest effect is using small remote control cars named the mini MINI. Designed to ferry equipment from the field to the throwing ares, the R/C cars save “valuable time during competition.”
The quarter scale cars were built by LOCOG and cover approximately 6km (3.7 miles) per day. They have a load capacity of 8kg (18lbs) which is enough to carry a single hammer, discus, shot or two javelins.
